The Honorable Member of Parliament representing the people of constituency 120 Western Area Urban Hon. Hindolo Tennyson Sandy has complimented president Bio’s administration for taken development to all parts of the country
The MP was speaking on the ongoing Presidential debate on the motion of thanks on the speech delivered by His Excellency the President Dr. Julius Maada Bio on the occasion of the State Opening of the Fourth Session of the Fifth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone in the Chamber of Parliament on Tuesday 18th May 2021,
Hon. Hindolo Tennyson Sandy commended the President for what he described as “a well-articulated speech”. On the transport sector, he said, the President is working with the private sector to improve transportation in the country. He cited several challenges faced by the transport industry, noting that the private sector in partnership with the government has secured 200 buses in order to help to alleviate the suffering of passengers with modern art GPS technology and powerful features to ease accidents on the road.
He disclosed that several policies had been introduced on government vehicles in order to be protected and safeguarded. He noted that these buses in not too distant future would ply the street of Freetown to ease the challenges of transportation.
On Tourism, the Member of Parliament again applauded the president for allowing Sierra Leoneans from the diaspora to visit and trace their origins and were awarded Sierra Leonean Passports. He also extolled the government for providing Milton Margai college a 52 bed room hotel for a training ground for students to excel in their academic work with a grant of $ US 50 million
“I also want to mention that the World Bank has granted money to the government in rebranding Sierra Leone which is aimed at beautifying the land that we love Sierra Leone,” he said.
He concluded by thanking President Bio and called on colleagues MPs to join the president in putting the country first in terms of development.
