The honourable Member of Parliament representing constituency 029 in Kono District Hon. Rebecca Yei Sam has called on politicians in the District to focus on developing Kono District rather than partisan politics.
The Honourable Member of Parliament made the statement when donating assorted materials at different areas in the municipality of Koidu. Materials donated were: four brand new tyres to the Koidu Government Hospital (KGH) management, three bundles of zinc and a cash of One Million Leone each to the Tankoro market and quarry women in Tankoro Chiefdom Kono District.
Prior to the donation of the aforementioned assorted materials Hon. Sam maintained that for far too long Kono District has been relegated among other district in the country in terms of development and therefore urged her colleague politicians to prefer development to partisan politics as there is no place like home, nothing with sustainable development in the district politicians whose tenure may come to an end will easily return home and have good time with their people.
“As for me the development of our district should be first on our priority lists as politicians whilst the remaining things are secondary issues,” she said.
Meanwhile similar donations by the honourable Member of Parliament to other areas that constitute her constituency in Kono District are under way.
