In a landmark event on September 14, 2025, the Brookfield Community Team unveiled their new jerseys and players in anticipation of their inaugural match in the Central One Football Association Inter-Community League at the Parade grounds.
The atmosphere at Morgan Lane in Brookfield was vibrant and electric, filled with excitement and community pride as Hon. Chericoco officially presented the team’s jerseys and players to the crowd.
As the keynote speaker, Hon. Chericoco expressed his enthusiasm for supporting Brookfield’s community through sports and various development initiatives. He emphasized that sports, particularly football, serve not only as entertainment but also as a unifying force that fosters peace, discipline, and teamwork.
“Our participation in this tournament transcends football. It’s about uniting the Brookfield Community, showcasing our talented players, and fostering pride,” he stated.
He acknowledged the contributions of Brookfield’s veterans, asserting that “Brookfield’s business is everyone’s business, and no one should wait to be called upon.” He highlighted his commitment to community unity, stressing that football can bridge gaps across gender, race, and backgrounds, and he called for everyone to actively participate to ensure Brookfield’s success in the COFA Tournament.
Team representatives, players, community elders, youth, and women expressed their gratitude to Hon. Chericoco for his unwavering support, honoring him as a true son of Brookfield who invests in the community, empowers youth, and promotes sports development.
The unveiling ceremony was met with cheers from supporters and players, who are optimistic about their team’s performance. The Brookfield Community Team will proudly wear their new jerseys as they compete in this year’s COFA Inter-Community Football Tournament.
Chief Sponsor Kadie Kallon of Ami Hospital announced that as part of their 10th Anniversary Celebration, they have partnered with the Community Team to support them during the tournament. She noted that their assistance includes managing players’ medical needs, providing two sets of jerseys, and supplying training equipment throughout the competition.
Kallon urged community members to rally behind the team as they represent Brookfield in this highly anticipated league, emphasizing that unity within the community leads to development. She encouraged residents to focus on the positive aspects of growth.
According to the Team Coordinator, funds will be available for match win bonuses for every victory achieved by the Brookfield Team.
The Brookfield Community Team is set to face off against the Dwarzak Community Team at the Parade grounds, with a large crowd expected to witness the match.
