Hon. Benjamin Turay Commends President Bio’s Developmental Initiatives

The astute honourable Member of Parliament representing the people of Western Area Urban and particularly the people of Wilberforce and it’s environs Hon.Benjamin Turay has used the occasion of debate by Stating a Motion of Thanks to His Excellency the President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

His address was so graciously delivered on the State Opening of the First Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone to catalog the president’s achievement during his five years in office. The sound-minded MP bears no doubt that His Excellency the President has strongly transformed the developmental trajectory of nations in every sector so far.

 In the Chamber of Parliament, the MP described the president as a man of his word who had the people of Sierra Leone at heart and underscores the tremendous development in the field of infrastructure, health, education, and other related sectors.

On education, the young and promising MP said, the President had provided thousands of scholarships to the people of Sierra Leone to boost human capital development. He went on to highlight the achievement so far on the free quality education.

On infrastructural development, the charismatic MP notes that several road projects in the country are ongoing whilst some are completed. He heaps praise on the President for the construction of the peninsula road and other roads linking the country.

On health related areas, the Member of Parliament applauded the work of the president in the construction of hospitals and PHUs in the country.

The MP spoke well on the empowerment of youth and female representation “The government is determined to transform the development of the State through empowerment”, he said and went on to advise the youths to refrain from the intake of (Kush) drugs.

Hon. Benjamin Turay used the debate in the Chamber of Parliament to also acknowledge the development and support of the First Lady in promoting the right of the girl child and other related development. The MP said the First Lady Dr. Fatima Bio is a woman of development who had stood by his husband to develop the nation.

He also commended the First Lady on her role in the 34 Military Hospital facilities and other related development. “Let use our recess to engage our Ghetto youth and Attire base boys from the hands of drugs” he concluded.
