The Honourable Member of Parliament representing the constituency comprising twenty political zones, Hon. Alhaji Yusuf Macury, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the completion of the Korwama Community Centre in Bo City.
Hon. Macury made this assurance on Saturday, 14th December 2025, during a community stakeholders’ debriefing and consultation meeting held at Korwama Section, Bo City. The meeting brought together community leaders, youths, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on ongoing and proposed development initiatives within the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Macury emphasized his strong passion for addressing the felt needs of his constituents. He disclosed that he and his team have already commenced the active implementation of his development roadmap. Among the interventions highlighted were support for the construction of the ICS School, the rehabilitation of a community water well scheduled for March or April 2026, and assistance to school projects undertaken by SLUIM and the United Methodist Church (UMC) in the Manjama and Messima communities.
The lawmaker further revealed that his office has supported youths engaged in community road maintenance through the donation of twelve shovels, four pickaxes, and a cash contribution of ten thousand Leones. He noted that this support is intended to promote community-driven development and encourage active youth participation.
Speaking specifically on the Korwama Community Centre, Hon. Macury informed stakeholders that he has concluded discussions with the contractor, who is expected to prepare and submit a budget for the completion of the facility. He reiterated that the community centre remains a top priority, considering its importance as a hub for meetings, social activities, and community engagement.
Additional concerns raised during the meeting included the need for further support to the SLUIM School project on Jakema Street in the Manjama community. In response, Hon. Macury pledged to provide an additional two thousand bricks to the project, describing the school as vulnerable and in urgent need of attention, especially during the festive break.
In his concluding remarks, Hon. Alhaji Yusuf Macury stated that although the three cardinal responsibilities of Members of Parliament guide his legislative work, his leadership is anchored in a deeper humanist philosophy. He reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the safety, security, and dignity of all wards, zones, and constituents under his representation.
