The Human Resource office on the 4th of August, 2022 organized manpower planning training and the at the Civil Service training college in Freetown.
Speaking at the training, the director of the human resource Planning Budgeting Mr Samuel Coker said the importance of the training is to identify new HR officers and their respective NDAs in the civil service. He adds that they organize such manpower planning process as part of the national budgeting process for the country.
Coker said this is the first meeting that they informed the budgeting process generally in Sierra Leone and adds that this process is principally designed to enable their HR officers, Strategic officers, and NDAs, in the Sierra Leone civil service to acquire the necessary skills to use those manpower HR primary tools, to enable them to be present during the regular annual power guidelines for respective NDAs, and to discuss the manpower situations for the government to provide those skills prominent and competent staffs to perform respectively. He said the financial aspect was done after their final annual report binder with the NDAs for it to serve as a guide to be presented to the Ministry of Finance.
The keynote speaker, acting Director of Training & Career Development HRMO, Mathew Beckhio said since the establishment of the HRMO office in progress 2012 the office positively continues to make strides in approving the mandate of performance.
He said though there are many challenges the government intervene and developed new working tools assistance in the civil service human resource environment, and further that the government improve performance according to the system, management and functional reviews NDAs, improvement in pay role management, worked for the lower parents, improve access to training and career development products for staffs at all levels.
He further said that there are improvements in the human resource department to support the effort for an informed government and the protection of personal capacity building for the general public.
Mr. Beckhio said in their dynamic environment regular training on the news of these new working tools’ existence and improvement is very keen in ensuring a maximum means of effectiveness to support the HRMO department to recruit trained to assess civil servants.
As a result of providing a professional platform for career development skills training and retention of the highest skill labour to the civil service for effective and efficient service delivery, hence the training of this scale represents the first event in the overall manpower planning and budgeting exercises.
The program was interactive as questions and answers sessions climaxed the training.
