The reconstruction of the Hill Station bridge, located behind Old School, has entered the procurement stage, according to the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA). The announcement was made during an assessment visit by the Minister of Works and Public Assets, Dr. Denise Sandy, and his Deputy, Madam Queen Fafana, as part of the Ministry’s 2025 action plans.

The bridge, which was demolished for expansion, is a critical infrastructure for the Hill Station community. During the visit on Wednesday 8th January 2024, community stakeholders, led by Member of Parliament Hon. Benji Turay, appealed to the government to expedite the reconstruction process. They highlighted the bridge’s importance to residents and called for immediate intervention.

Responding to their concerns, Deputy Minister Fafana assured the community of the government’s commitment to completing the project. She reiterated that the Ministry, under the leadership of Dr. Sandy, is determined to address infrastructure challenges across the country.

Dr. Sandy emphasized the government’s dedication to fulfilling its promises, noting that infrastructure development remains a top priority for President Julius Maada Bio’s administration. The Hill Station community expressed hope and appreciation for the Ministry’s commitment, eagerly awaiting the project’s commencement.
