Umar Mansaray, a convicted high-profile drug offender in Sierra Leone, is reportedly in possession of a British passport issued under the name Nathan Christian Manages. According to available information, Mansaray is a naturalized British citizen.
Sources indicate that Nathan Christian Manages was born on November 1984 and spent several years in United Kingdom, during which he allegedly became involved in drug-related activities and reportedly served prison time in the UK.
On 22 December 2025, the Judiciary of Sierra Leone released updates on ongoing drug-related cases before the court. Among the cases highlighted was that of Umar Mansaray’s, also known as Nathan Christian Manages, described as one of the most sensitive and serious drug prosecutions currently concluded.
A public notice issued by the Judiciary confirmed that Mansaray was convicted of unlawful possession of prohibited drugs, contrary to the National Drugs Control Act, 2008. His conviction was handed down on 8 December 2025, and he has since begun serving a 25-year prison sentence at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown.
Court records further show that prior to his conviction, Mansaray was arraigned before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8, where he faced four counts relating to drug possession and the manufacturing of substances used in drug production.
According to the particulars of offence, on 1 July 2025, Mansaray was arrested at a police checkpoint in the Southern Province, where he was found in possession of prohibited drugs without lawful authority. Additionally, on 22 July 2025, at Waterloo in the Western Area Rural District, he was allegedly found in possession of precursor chemicals and thirteen containers of substances used to manufacture illegal drugs.
Beyond the criminal proceedings, records indicate that Nathan Christian Manages is listed as the owner of an entertainment company in the United Kingdom named Streetwize Entertainment Limited, registered under Company Number 14755049. The company’s correspondence address is 7A Choumert Road, Peckham, London, SE15 4SE.
According to sources, the company presents itself as an entertainment promotion platform operating between Sierra Leone and the UK. However, it is alleged that the business was used as a front for illicit drug-related activities, a major reason why it was shut down following his conviction.
The Judiciary of Sierra Leone has stated that its intensified efforts to combat the proliferation of prohibited drugs are yielding results. In less than two months, the High Court concluded 20 out of 80 pending drug-related cases, all resulting in convictions based on evidence presented before the court.
Meanwhile, public speculation suggests that Mansaray could potentially benefit from executive clemency due to his alleged influence and wealth. However, observers have called on relevant authorities, particularly UK immigration and law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant should he attempt to return to Britain, given his conviction and alleged in narco-terrorism and drug trafficking.
