The High Court of Sierra Leone has ruled that the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elections, scheduled for August 2, 2025, in Lungi, will proceed without interruption.

Presiding over Court No. 2, Justice Alfred Gander denied a request for an injunction that sought to halt the electoral process. The application was filed by Thomas Daddy Brima and Madam Aminata Bangura, both of whom had sought legal intervention to suspend the elections. After reviewing the case, the judge dismissed the request, effectively allowing the elections to go ahead as planned.

This decision ensures that the SLFA’s electoral process will continue without judicial interference, despite ongoing tensions and legal challenges aimed at delaying it.

It is worth noting that both Mr. Brima, the incumbent SLFA president, and Madam Bangura had previously initiated legal action against the SLFA, seeking clarification on rulings made by the Ethics Committee. These rulings stem from allegations of document forgery involving police clearances and travel documents.

At present, Madam Aminata Bangura remains the only candidate with a pending appeal before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which is expected to deliver its decision tomorrow.
