HAWA FORAY NEWLY ELECTED SLPP NATIONAL WOMEN’S LEADER

Hawa Foray has been declared as Sierra Leone People’s Party National Women’s leader in a national executive election held at CATCO Hall, Wilkinson Road in Freetown on Thursday 2nd December 2021.

  After the cancellation of last weekend polls in Kailahun District, which ended in chaotic atmosphere, the Executive Council of the Sierra Leone People’s Party has selected David Sengeh, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Timothy Kabba Minster of Mineral Resources, few Members of Parliament (MPs) and executives of regional bodies across the country as members to oversee the re-running of the election.

Fatmata Sawanneh, Hawa Foray and Fatmata Bockarie were also considered as favorable candidates for the position of the Sierra Leone People’s Party National Women’s Leader.

During the course of the election, Josephine Jackson who was one of the aspirants in the last weekend election held in Kailahun officially stepped down and declared her support for Fatmata Sawanneh.

Hawa Foray, the SLPP National Women’s Leader elect scored one hundred and seventy-three (173) votes, Fatmata Sawanneh got one hundred and twenty-four votes (124) and Fatmata Bockarie had fifteen votes (15)
