Guma Valley to Temporarily Suspend Water Supply for Maintenance

The Guma Valley Water Company has announced a temporary suspension of water supply to several areas in Freetown due to essential maintenance work.

The planned service interruption will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and will affect the Milton Margai, Spur Road, and surrounding communities.

According to a press release issued on September 2, the maintenance will be carried out at the Milton Margai and Spur Road facilities to ensure the continued efficiency and reliability of the company’s water supply infrastructure.

“This routine maintenance is crucial to preserving the integrity of our infrastructure and improving overall service delivery,” the company stated.

Guma Valley Water Company expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause. “We understand that water supply interruptions can be disruptive, and we appreciate the understanding of our customers during this essential work,” the statement added.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to store adequate water in advance to meet their needs during the shutdown period.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to improving water services and infrastructure across Freetown to meet the demands of the city’s growing population. It also assured the public that updates will be provided as the maintenance work progresses, and that every effort will be made to restore services promptly.
