Gassimu Mallah Promotes Hygiene in Disabled Institutions

Friends of Gassimu Mallah have put smiles on some disabled pupils and staff of three schools for disables in Bo City, Southern Sierra Leone.

The Friends of Gassimu Mallah went to Paul School for the Blind at Gbaima Road, Deaf and Dumb School at New York and Sir Milton Margai Cheshire Home.

Paul School for the blind received Le 500,000, bars of soap, toothbrush and toothpaste. Deaf and dumb School received Le180, 000, bars of soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, and Cheshire home received Le 250,000 bars of soap, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Forty-seven pupils and staff of 12 from Paul School for the Blind and Deaf, 13 pupils and five staff of Deaf and Dumb School and 12 pupils and five staff from Sir Milton Cheshire Home 30 pupils and 8 staff all benefitted.

Delivering the items, Mr. Gassimu Mallah said he is always around to welcome people who wants help from him, but specially disable people, he said.

He also revealed that he gave out Christmas gifts to other people and SLPP party stalwarts in Bo in December at their Fenton Road office.

Gassimu Mallah disclosed as part of the continuation of his philanthropist gesture, Friends of Gassimu Mallah decided to support the disabled pupils and their teachers in Bo this time.

A representative of Friends of Gassimu Mallah, Rev. Hassan Kainesie described Gassimu Mallah as a friend of the disabled.

He informed Gassimu Mallah will be vying for the mayoral position of Bo City Council and would need their prayers.

Head teacher for Paul School, Mohamed S. Conteh thanked Gassimu Mallah for the surprised gesture.

He said Mr. Mallah has always been coming to their aid and recalled how the mother of one of their pupils was sick and when they contacted him for assistance, Gassimu Mallah helped to save the life of the lady, Lombeh Dauda.

The Matron for Paul School, Marie Trye described Gassimu Mallah as a true friend.

She added that there are people who have money more than Gassimu Mallah but they have never visited or helped the children at Paul school. 

She lamented people just go and leave their children at the school without visiting them again.

In appreciation of the gesture, the pupils prayed for Mr. Mallah and sang a beautiful song for his Mayoral ambition for the leadership of Bo City saying “nar Gassimu Mallah wi want”.
