At the Waterloo Magistrate Court in the Rural District presided over by Veteran Magistrate Abubakarr Bangura have set the record straight to send  a  clear signal to those who are sabotaging the nation and think that they can mess up with the law.

The matter between I.G vs. Alusine Koroma and Noah Kanu both 25 years were arraigned before Magistrate Abubakarr Bangura on one count charge of Larceny under the larceny Act of 1916. Both pleaded not guilty.

Particulars of offence are that both accused person on Monday 18 October 2021 at Jui Junction in the Waterloo district in the western area of the republic of Sierra Leone stole one thousand, five hundred liters of diesel value fifteen million Leones property belonging to Orange Company.

Veteran and popular legal lawyer Elvis Kargbo is representing Orange Company.

He admonished the court that such people are a disease to society.

Mr. Kargbo said looking at the trend and challenges people are going through over the shortage of fuel in society these are the people that are responsible not just only to sabotage the company but the nation as well.

 He submitted that the magistrate should send a clear warning to those who think they can mess up with the law and go free with it.

 He said, sending a message will not only bring fear but strict caution to others.

Delivering his judgment, the learned Magistrate said enough evidence have proven both accused person guilty. As a magistrate of the law he stands to do the right thing and ensure that Justice is properly done.

First accused person Alusine Koroma a security was sentence to pay a fine of one million Leones and serve a sentence of two years in prison. While the second accused person Noah Kanu a business man was sentenced to pay a fine of one million Leone and also serve a sentence of one year in prison.

The magistrate further ordered that the property stolen in this matter be restituted back to the complainant by the convict.

Both convict was escorted to prison.
