The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, together with its sub-vented agencies the National Tourist Board (NTB) and the Monuments and Relics Commission (MRC) staged a vibrant and energetic Float Parade on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, in support of the highly anticipated One Nation Reggae Festival. Led by a police escort, the colourful motorcade moved across Freetown in full cultural flair, capturing the attention of communities throughout the city.

Starting at the Ministry’s Kingharman Road headquarters, the parade followed designated stopover routes along key city streets including Grafton, Jui, Hastings, Calaba Town, PMB, Shell, Ferry Junction, Up Gun, and Dwarzark Junction, before making its way to Lumley Beach via Congo Cross, Wilkinson Road, and Lumley. Staff, partners, and international reggae artists Jah Thunder and Lucan I energized cheering crowds with powerful reggae rhythms that echoed through each community.

The primary objective of the Float Parade was to raise public awareness and build momentum for the One Nation Reggae Festival, scheduled for 28th November 2025 at the Radisson Blu Garden. Residents lined the streets in excitement and anticipation, many expressing that the event is poised to be the biggest reggae showcase Sierra Leone has ever witnessed, featuring global headliners such as Sizzla Kalonji and Christopher Martin, alongside top Sierra Leonean performers.

The parade also highlighted strong leadership involvement, with Minister Nabeela Farida Tunis actively leading the convoy. She was joined by Permanent Secretary Judith C. Jones, Director of Culture, Creativity and Innovation Foday Jalloh, and Director of Tourism, Travel and Exchange Mohamed Jalloh. Their participation reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to promoting cultural tourism through music and creative expression.

Freetown’s streets came alive with colour, energy, and unity throughout the event. The cultural vibrations that swept through the city set the perfect tone for the upcoming festival. As the rhythm intensified and crowd engagement soared, one message became clear: Freetown is ready, and the One Nation Reggae Festival is poised to make history.
