Fredo Football club has on Sunday 14th November 2021 departed four players to part take in international trials in Monrovia Liberia.
According to Alfred Conteh, the head coach of the Division two Football Club has been involved in developing young players from ages ranging from 8, years, 10 years, 14 years, and 20years. He said that last month they had an interview at the SS Camp playing field where the four players proved outstanding and that makes it possible the experts from Belgium asked them to join the big international trials in Liberia.
He affirmed that the agents are from Belgium and Australia, as a football club we had wanted for them to conduct the trials in Sierra Leone but they decided to do it in Liberia where they have the bulk of the other players.
He said if the four players do well and pass the trials then a two weeks documentation process will be between the club and the agents for the four players to continue their professional career.
He further that on the 6th December 2021 the entire Fredo Football Club will depart Sierra Leone to Liberia for another trial where it will be organized by a club from the Gambia. He said the club is looking to scout more Sierra Leonean players as they have sold one player from Sierra Leone and that why they want to do another set of players from the Country.
Alfred Conteh confirmed that the Liberia trip will see a 20 man delegation which will have to make the trip and it will be comprised of 15 players and five officials, he called the other players back to tighten up their training and be more focused as there are more opportunities on the way for them.
Fredo Football club has already qualified for the Western Area Division two football league that is set to kick starts soon and has been into a series of friendly matches and in August the team was in Kenema where they played three friendlies matches win one draw one and lost one. The club is currently bracing up for division two that is set to kick start soon.
