Four Accused Persons Discharged For Possession Of Fire Arm

Allieu George “alias Deportee”, Abdul Senesie “alias Shargun”, Samuel Forbie ” alias Face” and Sidie Turay “alias Paris” all accused persons were discharged for  possession of fire arm after pleaded guilty  before Honorable Justice Ansumana  Ivan Sesay of the High Court of Sierra Leone in Freetown.

When making further questioning as to the authenticity of the possession of the fire arm from the accused persons, Honorable Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay admonished the four accused persons who were dressed with tattered faces prepared to explain how they were involved of allegedly having in possession of a Black and Brown Makarov pistol with serial number B02970 and an old magazine with five rounds of ammunition.

The first accused person who was a scrap iron and mental seller said he found the fire arm during his quest for scrap iron and mental hunting. He told the court that he placed the fire arm inside his bag at the time of his daily hustle of which one of the scrap iron dealers identified it and made a call to the Waterloo Police Station.

Going forward, the second, third and fourth accused persons gave contrary bite of their arrest and their stellar term spent in jail.

According to the statement of the police, the accused persons were found in possession of the Black and Brown Makarov pistol without license which is contrary to regulation 22 of the Arms and Ammunition Regulations 2014, statutory instrument No. 8 of 2014.

In his final ruling, Honorable Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay said the accused persons had been pleaded guilty and served sentenced more than the time the matter was in court there and when he declared them free men. He ordered for the Black and Brown Makarov pistol to be collected from the DAR at the Pademba Road Magistrates Court and handed over to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mohamed Brima Jah Esq as one of the State Counsels partnering with Jessie Tucker Esq another State Counsel.

C. Tucker Esq from Legal Aid Board was representing the four accused persons in the matter.
