A 59-year-old former ward coordinator, Mohamed Sanu, and a 53-year-old pastor, Kelly Marrah, made their first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, to answer to charges of misprision of treason, contrary to law.

According to the charge sheet, between 26th November 2023 and 26th July 2025, in Freetown, the accused unlawfully concealed knowledge of treason allegedly committed by Daniel Keleh Mansaray alias “Ceaser” and other unknown individuals.

After the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken from either defendant.

State Counsel, Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq., informed the court that the prosecution was in the process of filing the required written consent from the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, as mandated for treason-related charges. He requested a short adjournment to allow for the completion of procedural requirements.

Magistrate Jah, citing the serious nature of the offense, refused bail and ordered that both defendants be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to 29th September 2025 for further hearing.
