Personnel from the Motema Police Divisional Headquarters in Nimikoro Chiefdom, Kono District, under the leadership of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mohamed Turay, provided security support for their counterparts at the Tankoro Chiefdom Police Divisional Headquarters during the official visit of Mr. Dankolo, the former Chief Security Officer of Koidu Limited Mining Company.
The visit also included stakeholders from the former company, representatives from STARCO Insurance Company Sierra Leone, and officials from an international insurance company. The purpose of the visit was to assess and verify the extent of damages to the company’s property within the mining concession.
Upon arrival, Mr. Dankolo and his team were received by the security personnel, led by the LUC (Local Unit Commander) of the Motema Police Division, CSP Turay. During the meeting, the objectives of the visit were explained, and a comprehensive security arrangement was made to ensure safety, order, and smooth coordination throughout the exercise.
In his address, Mr. Dankolo, speaking on behalf of the former mining company, expressed his gratitude to the security sector for their continued support and coverage at the mining concession. He acknowledged the tireless efforts of the security personnel and urged that the safety of the visit be maintained throughout the process.
The visiting team emphasized the importance of collaboration and effective community policing, stressing that coordination between the security forces and the team on the ground would be vital to the success of the visit.
The visit was completed successfully without any breaches of peace or disruptions. All parties involved expressed their satisfaction with the level of professionalism and cooperation demonstrated by the police during the visit.
