In a heartwarming display of generosity, Abdul Salam Olala Kamara, a distinguished former student of Bo Government Secondary School, demonstrated his commitment to the institution by donating a complete set of uniforms and a substantial cash prize to the members of the 2023/2024 Prefectural Board. This significant contribution was presented on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023.
Representing Abdul Salam Olala Kamara, Reverend Hassan Kainese and Pastor Alpha Mugabe conveyed the donation made on behalf of their fellow alumnus who now resides abroad, symbolizes his deep affection for the school. Rev. Kainese shared that Abdul Salam had previously served as the senior prefect during the 2001/2002 academic year, and his contribution is a testament to his enduring attachment to the school.
Rev. Kainese elaborated, “Abdul has always held this school close to his heart, and he has been contemplating ways to give back to the institution. Today, we are here to present a full set of uniforms to the Prefectural Board for the 2023/2024 academic year. Furthermore, in the afternoon, we will host a delightful luncheon for all the school staff as a gesture of appreciation for their relentless dedication and hard work. These teachers have played an indispensable role in shaping our lives, and sitting down with them to reflect on their contributions is an essential part of this endeavor. We aim to inspire them to continue their exceptional work. Additionally, “we would organize a luncheon for all the prefects and current SSS 3 students tomorrow.”
He emphasized that Abdul Salam Olala Kamara coordinated these generous actions from the United States of America through Rev. Kainese and Pastor Alpha Mugabe, the close friend who facilitated the activities.
Speaking on behalf of his fellow prefects, Senior Prefect Alhaji Kojo Hotangua extended heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Abdul Salam Olala Kamara for his benevolence, highlighting the importance of the donated uniforms in their roles.
“At Bo School, holding a prefect position comes with great responsibility, and Mr. Kamara comprehends this. His donation of uniforms for the prefects is truly appreciated. I encourage other alumni to follow in Mr. Kamara’s footsteps and contribute to our school’s success and growth through mentorship programs, scholarships, and other forms of support. We extend our thanks to all who have unwaveringly supported the success of our school. Together, we will continue to thrive at Bo School.”
Mr. Michael S. Kosia, the Vice Principal of Bo Government Secondary School, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the school administration. He assured that the administration would continue to uphold high standards of academic excellence and encouraged the students to remain dedicated to their studies. Kamara’s remarkable act of generosity serves as an inspiring example for all alumni, fostering a sense of unity and support within the school community.
