Amadu Jalloh a business man made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on three count charges to wit Wounding with intent contrary to section 18 of the offences against the person Act 1861, Wounding contrary to section 20 of the offences against the person Act 1861 and Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 8th June 2022 at Lamina Sankoh Street the western area in Freetown wounded Ishmail Conteh with intent to do him grievous bodily harm and Assaulted him in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and no plea taken.
Deputy Superintendent of police Eric A. Deen led the first Prosecution witness (PW1) Ishmail Conteh an apprentice who said he recognized the accused person.
PW1 recalled the 8th June 2022 something happened between himself and the accused person and that at 12am the accused met him at a desk and requested him to get up from the desk, and later altercation ensued that led to oozing of blood.
The witness said he gain consciousness at the hospital. Later the police issued a medical report form and later returned with the endorsed medical form to make statement at the police station.
The accused person was unrepresented and Magistrate Gogra sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown. Matter adjourned to the 23rd June 2022 for further hearing.
