Magistrate Abdul Carew of Kenema Magistrate Court No.1 has sent one Monica Turay of Cow Yard Section, Kenema City on remand for allegedly throwing hot palm oil on her 15-year-old stepson Amara Sannoh.
The accused made her second appearance before the presiding Magistrate Abdul Carew on three count charges.
Count one states that Monica Turay on Tuesday 28 March 2023, at the Cow Yard section in Kenema city, wounded Amara Sannoh with intent to do him grievous bodily harm to disable him.
On Count Two, Monica Turay at the same address and venue stated above, the accused maliciously wounded Amara Sannoh.
Count three, states that the accused was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily Harm contrary to section 18 of the Offences against the Persons Act 1861. The accused person upon arraignment denied the allegations.
The matter was prosecuted by Sgt. 4654 Watta Bakarr.
Magistrate Carew denied the accused bail and adjourned the matter to Friday 14 April 2023 for another hearing.
