At the criminal sessions of the high Court in Freetown on the 18th November 2021 Mohamed Mansaray who sexually penetrated his biological daughter has been found guilty of sexual penetration and Incest.
The accused person made another appearance before Justice Komba Kamanda J.A on two counts of sexual Penetration contrary to section 19 of the sexual offences Act 2012, Act No.12 as repealed and replaced by section 4 (a) (iii) of the sexual offences amendment Act 2019, Act No.8 of 2019 and Incest contrary to section 10 (1) of the sexual offences Act 201, Act No.12 of 2012.
According to the particulars of offence on the 27th of April 2021 in Freetown Mohamed Mansaray, engaged in an act of sexual penetration with a child below 18 years old and on count two on the same date engaged in sexual intercedes with a child below 18 whom he knows to be his daughter.
According to the victim, her father the accused person deflowered her in 2017 at the age of 13 years and continued to have sexual intercourse with her up to date.
She said she informed her step mother Haja about it and she pleaded to her not to inform anyone and assured her that her father will not attempt it again to her.
The victim said her father continue on the 27th April 2021 after she finished cooking her father called her into his room and had sexual intercourse with her but stated that she did not inform her mother anymore and she later confided in her teacher in school who took her to the police station to make a formal report.
The accused person was represented by H. Momoh; the state prosecutor Yusif Isaac Sesay called four witnesses including the mother of the victims
However, Justice Kamanda sentenced the accused person to 30 years on count one and 15 years on count two.
