The Head Teacher of Paul School for the Blind in Bo district, Mohamed Salieu Conteh has commended President Bio’s Free and Quality Education for not delaying the government subvention to the school this academic year.

Speaking to A-Z Newspaper, Mr. Conteh said that they received their yearly allocation in January this year to the tune of one hundred and sixty-four Million Leones in old notes, which he described as a step in the right direction.

He, however, said that even though the government subvention to the school is not adequate but some organizations and individuals come to the aid of the pupils with support to help in the running of schools.

Mr. Conteh said that they have prepared ahead of the re-opening of schools on September 5 but their school is a boarding home which requires the pupils to prepare well before resuming classes.

He said that one of the major challenges that were facing the running of the school was the late delivery of government allocation to the school but he expressed the hope that it will no longer happen because of the commitment of the government’s early allocation.

Mr Conteh however called on the Government to increase the allocation to the school as there are more physically challenged children coming to the school for admission and also appealed to organizations and individuals to continue to support Paul School for the Blind, as disability is not inability.
