For Malicious Damage: Barber Sentenced To 3Months Imprisonment

30 years old Barbar Conteh a Barber made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Malicious Damage contrary to section 51 of the malicious damage Act 1861 and Disorderly behavior contrary to Section 12 of the public order Act No.46 as repealed and replaced by Section 12 (a) of the Public Order Act No.15 of 1973.

According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 27th September 2023 at No.20 Regent Road Lumley the western area in Freetown malicious damage one wooden window and three Zinc pan all to the total sum of three hundred and ninety five Leones (Le 395) property of Dwight Younge; on count two at the same place and date the accused person did behave in a disorderly manner.

When the charges was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor told the bench that fact as charge no available records against the accused person

The accused person was unrepresented by legal representative and he pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy; due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Gogra deliver his ruling said the accused person to compensate the complainant the alleged sum on the file and sentence the accused person to three months imprisonment to the male correctional center in Freetown.

 Deputy Superintendent to the Marie Sesay prosecuted the matter.
