As a lead campaigner for the re-election of His Excellency the President, Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio, Chief Abdul Kadiru Kaikai has written a letter urging Africa Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and other development partners to put the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party under closed monitoring for flaming conflict as the country prepares to go into the 2023 general elections.
He said he has been bringing to the attention of the Chairperson the alleged continuous fanning of the flames of conflict in Sierra Leone by the APC. He further reminded the AU Boss about the statement of the APC presidential candidate who had promised to create all sorts of havoc and mayhem if he was not declared the winner of the 2018 presidential election.
“Since the defeat at the 2018 polls, the country has witnessed the most toxic hate speeches and youth incitement that is threatening to reverse all the gains we have made as a country, considering the peace after 11 years of one of the deadliest wars in Africa” he averred.
Abdul Kaikai catalogue all the incidents allegedly planned by the opposition party and has caused the loss of lives and the destruction of properties.
“Considering this Sir, I write to draw your attention to the troubles being fermented by the opposition so that it is nipped in the bud as a stitch in time saves nine” he concluded.
