Dymalab SL Operations Manager, Mohamed Saluku Kamara, was on the 13 September 2021, sent to prison over an alleged embezzling of over two hundred million Leones from the said company.
The accused was arraigned before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court on one count charge of Embezzlement contrary to section 17)(1(b) of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, it was alleged that the accused Mohamed Saluku Kamara on Tuesday 1st April 2021 and Wednesday 30 June 2021 in Freetown, being an employee of Dynalab Sierra Leone Ltd, fraudulently embezzled two hundred and forty four million eight hundred and ninety nine thousand Leone (Le 244, 899, 000.00) being proceeds from sales of standardized herbs and nutrition supplements.
When the charge was read to the accused no plea was taken.
Defense counsel, Timbo Esq for the accused applied for bail pursuant to section 79 of the criminal procedure act 1965, the prosecutor Sahid Mohamed Sesay Esq opposed the bail application due to the serious nature of the offence.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura refused the accused bail and accused was remanded in prison; matter was adjourned to Monday 20th September, 2021 for further hearing.
