Samba Mustapha, Samay Momoh, Mohamed Kallon and Hassan Kargbo yesterday made their first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngeba of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown
The accused were arraigned before the court on a count charge of cultivating cannabis sativa without lawful authority contrary to section 7(a) of the national drugs control act of 2008.
The charge sheet indicated that the accused on a date unknown between Thursday 1st December 2022 and 16th February 2023 at Waterloo village, cultivated a prohibited drugs to wit cannabis sativa weighing 1,367.5 kilograms without lawful authority.
After the charges were read and explain to the accused person, they pleaded not guilty of the offense.
The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Christina Davis Cole sought for a short date that the witness was absent in court.
The accused persons were unrepresented in court no application was made on their behalf.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and sent both accused persons to the male correctional centre in Freetown matter adjourned to the 11th April 2023 for further hearing.
