For converting over 300 bags of cements…. Driver remanded

Abdul Gibril Tarawally a driver by profession has on the 7th February 2022, made his first appearance before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Court No 3 Ross Road Freetown for converting to himself over three hundred bags of imported cements.

The accused is charged on a count of fraudulent conversation contrary to Section 20 (1) (IV) (a) of the Larceny Act 191.

According to the charge sheet, the accused person Abdul Gibril Tarawally sometimes in November 2020, at Lakka Village, Freetown, fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say one Dangote delivery order containing three hundred and forty (340) bags of imported cements value twenty two million eight hundred thousand Leones (Le 22,800,000.00) entrusted to him by an Indian business man Praveen Katariya.

The charge was read to the accused person and no plea taken. He was not legally represented.

 Magistrate Daboh refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown, and matter adjourned to the 16th February 2022.  Detective Superintendent Fatmata Kuyateh is Prosecuting the matter.
