For Concord Times Summit… Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Jets In

The former Liberian president Helen Johnson Sirleaf has landed in Freetown to grace the Concord Times summit and awards night that is schedule to take place today at the international Bintumani conference center in Freetown.

The theme of the event is “The citizens, Good Governance and post Covid-19 inclusive recovery”.

Her gracing of the event is a sequel to her last visit during the Bintumani 3 conference that was geared towards enhancing national cohesion and unity.

Her Excellency Madam Johnson Sirleaf, Liberian former president accepted the invitational honour to deliver the keynote address at the summit.

The overarching objective of the summit is to serve as an interactive platform for citizens, policy makers, civil society activists, development experts, media and academia to engage in policy discussions and debates about socio economic and political developments in Sierra Leone and the sub region.

The Concord Times Nation Builders awards night, will honour deserving individuals and institutions for their outstanding contributions to society.

The Concord Times summit was launched in 2008, and the inaugural summit was chaired by the former late president of Sierra Leone Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.

Concord Times media have also invited several other distinguished Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad to make presentations on pertinent topics including youths as a catalyst for national development, fostering citizen-government relations, women`s empowerment, sustainable recovery, the importance of regional economic integration and multilateralism and national development.

Dr Kandeh Yumkella, a former Under-Secretary General and representative of the United Nations Secretary General for sustainable energy for all, has confirmed his participation as chairman for the event.
