For Alleged Theft: 2 Imprisoned

The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Christiana Davies Cole ESQ told the bench that she’s offering no evidence against the first accused person on the IG criminal File against serial number CS1137/2023 and she applied for the testimony and the exhibit that has been tendered in court to be returned.

The accused persons Abdul Karim Bangura and Abdul Thullah on CS 971/2023 made their first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on three count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and two count charges ranging from Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday the 30th March 2023 at Bonga Town off Wilkinson Road, in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Larceny. On count two, the first accused person Abdul Kasim Bangura on the same place and date did enter into the vehicle of John Keister and steal the sum of thirty-two thousand seven hundred and fifty Leones (32,750) property of John Keister.

The charges were read and explained to the accused persons but they pleaded not guilty

The accused persons were unrepresented by legal representatives The prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of police Christiana Davies Cole ESQ sought for a short adjournment date

 Meanwhile Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and sent both accused persons to the male correctional center in Freetown matter adjourned to the 18th May 2023 for further hearing.
