20yrs old Abdul Karim Kargbo made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge to wit shop breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Sunday 24th July 2022 at No.2 May Street, Kingtom the western area in Freetown with intent to steal, broke and entered into the shop of Mohamed Issa Bah and stole therein three in one black Smart wrist watch valued one thousand two hundred Leones (1,200) and a fiscal cash of nine hundred Leones (900) all to the total value of two thousand one hundred Leones (2,100) property of Mohamed Issa Bah.
Deputy Superintendent of police M. Barrie led first prosecution witness (PW1) Mohamed Issa Bah a business man and said he recognized the accused person. PW 1 said he recalled on the 24th July 2022 something transpired between himself and the accused person, where he said he went to a funeral and got information about the accused person; upon the information from one Hawa he discovered that his smart watch was missing.
He continued that he also discovered that fiscal cash was also missing. The witness said he took the accused person to the Adelaide Street police station where statement was obtained from him.
However, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown. Matter adjourned to the 26th August 2022 for further hearing.
