Ruchie Davison a businessman on 26th May 2023 made his first appearance before magistrate Mark Ngeba of Pademba Road Court no 1 as he was alleged of fraudulently converted to his own use and benefits three hundred pieces of cotton tree board valued over thirty million Leones.

The accused was arraigned before the court on two counts of charges of fraudulent conversion contrary to section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the larceny act of 1916.

The charge sheet indicated that the accused on a date unknown between 1st January and 31st October 2022 at Victoria Street in Freetown fraudulently converted to his own use and benefits three hundred (300) pieces of cotton tree board valued thirty-two million nine hundred and sixty -two thousand Leones (Le 32,962, 000.00) entrusted to him by Ibrahim Arapham Bayoh for the purpose of sale.

Shortly after the charges were read and explained to the accused; he pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The prosecutor requested for a short adjournment date due to the absence of his witness in court.

The accused was unrepresented in court and so no bail application was made on his behalf.

He was sent to the male correctional centre in Freetown until 9th June 2023 for another hearing.
