Focus 1000 has through the Global Partnership Covid-19 Education Emergency Response Program ended a day`s engagement with education stakeholders in Kono District on parental support towards the learning and wellbeing of every child particularly children living with disabilities and those in marginalized communities.
The Global Partnership Education Project is targeting at least twenty five (25) schools in Kono District. According to the Focus 1000 project manager, Elizabeth Agatha Musa Conteh, the aforesaid engagement is geared towards supporting the central government through the education ministry to addressing the barriers to equitable access to same, inclusive, quality learning opportunities in primary and junior secondary schools for children both boys and girls regardless of their status in remote and marginalized communities in the country.
Stakeholders who attended the said session including but not limited to heads of schools, civil society representatives and the Kono District Coordinator for Free Quality School Education Program, Abubakarr Bayor commended the World Bank for its funding towards the implementation of the project describing it as a step in the right direction.
