On Wednesday 4th day of August 2021, at about 1755 hours, at Moyamba junction, youths from Mile 91 town attacked some youths of Moyamba junction and the situation became riotous, where by three police officers were assaulted. Ten male suspects were arrested and were found in possession of knives, scissors, sticks, cannabis sativa, Kush and other offensive weapons.
All ten suspects including the exhibits we’re taken to Moyamba police station for further investigation, and were charged at the end of the investigation with ten count charges ranging from riotous conduct, assault on police, carrying offensive weapons, unlawful possession of cannabis sativa, throwing missiles and other criminal offences. All ten suspects under presently under court trial.
