Fisherman Jailed for alleged theft

Abubakar Fofanah a Fisher man made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on Tuesday 23rd August 2022 at Milton Street Murray Town the western area in Freetown conspired to steal by trick one A56 Itel Mobile phone valued eight hundred Leones (800) property of Chrispin Matieh Simbo.

The charges were read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.

However, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to the 1st September 2022 for further hearing

Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun is prosecuting the matter.

In another development in the same court Emmanuel Moripeh a business man made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra on one count charge to wit Fraudulent conversion Contrary to Section of 20 (1) (iv) (b) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence on Friday 12th August 2022 in the western area in Freetown fraudulently converted to his use or benefit certain property that is to say the sum of ten million Leones (10,000,000) entrusted to him by William Kamanda through Guaranty Trust Bank transaction for the purpose of delivering to Alphonso Williams.

The charges were read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.

However, Magistrate Gogra refused bail and sent the accused person the accused person to the male correctional center in Freetown matter adjourned to the 1st September 2022 for further hearing.

Inspector Mabel M Tarawalie is prosecuting the matter.
