23yrs old Karim Kamara a Fisher man has appearance before magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court in Freetown on one count charge to wit obtaining money by false pretense contrary to section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
It was alleged on the charge sheet that on the 20th March 2021 at last Banking Aberdeen in the Western Area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained one million Leones (1,000,000) from Mohamed Kamara by falsely pretending that you have single bed room to rent knowing same to be false.
The accused person plead guilty and asked for mercy and told the bench that he was at sea when he returned home he was told that his uncle had rented the room and he also told the bench that he accept to pay the complainant at the police station but he refused and insisted to bring him to court.
However the magistrate Peter Gogra sentenced the accused person to six months imprisonment.
The accused person was unrepresented while the matter was prosecuted by PC 18235 Thoronka K.K
