An inferno has in the early hours of Friday 17th, November 2023 on main Yardu Road in koidu City engulfed a dwelling House comprising at least two shops and property worth millions of Leones. The course of the said inferno is yet unknown. According to one of the shop owners Saillu Jalloh in the early hours of the aforementioned fateful date he was woken up in bed by the cry of some of his neighbours that his house and shops were on fire ,noting when he got up his room was fill with smoke and the only thing he was able to do was to rescue his children. Mr Jalloh maintained that whilst he was outside he came to know that the inferno engulfed the whole building they were occupying when his colleague shop owner Alie Tarawally went outside to urinate and perform ablution for prayers but to no avail because of the incident. According to reliable information, the fire force engine whilst is in the District to intervene in such situations was reported to be downed and as a result the said inferno burnt the structure that houses the two shops to ash. When contacted, the national fire force kono branch commander Donald Nicol confirmed to this medium that the fire engine is faulty but plans were underway to address the reported problem. He encouraged residents of koidu City and kono District as a whole to always switch off their electrical appliances and remove the switch from the sockets to prevent fire accidents in the District. The said fire accident is under investigation
