FC Kallon Football Club secured a commanding 3-0 victory against Diamond Stars FC in Match Week 16 of the Leone Rock Premier League, narrowing the gap on league leaders Star Sport Academy FC.
Sallieu Tarawallie was the star of the match, scoring a brace, while Yamoussa Camara added a third to seal the win for the Cavaliers.
Tarawallie opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, finishing off a swift counterattack initiated by Mohamed B. Sesay.He doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, strengthening Kallon’s grip on the game. Camara struck in the 71st minute, putting the result beyond doubt.
Despite efforts from Diamond Stars, Kallon’s defense held firm, ensuring the visitors extended their poor run of form, having failed to win any of their last five away matches.
Other league result include Star Sport Academy FC stumbled against Luawa FC, missing the chance to extend their lead at the top. At the Approved Schools playing field, Bullum Stars FC shocked Freetown City Council FC with a 2-1 win, courtesy of two goals from Momoh Bangura. Alfred Mbayo scored for Freetown City Council. Bai Bureh Warrior FC returned to form with a 2-1 victory over Freetonians SLIFA at Port Loko Stadium, with both goals coming in the first half. At Bo Coronation Field, Bo Rangers FC staged a remarkable comeback, overturning a 2-0 deficit to defeat Abacha City FC 4-3 in a thrilling encounter. On Saturday at the SLFA Academy playing field, Old Edwardians FC claimed all three points, with in-form striker James Jusu Kanja netting twice. The Leone Rock Premier League continues to deliver excitement, with more crucial fixtures ahead as the title race intensifies.
