Police at the Bo west family support unit are investigating at least two alleged sexual penetration cases. Detective assistant superintendent of police Mohamed KAnneh is the line manager Bo west Family support unit in an interview with A-Z confirmed that his unit was investigating at least two alleged sexual penetration matters. According to him one of the alleged sexual penetration cases involving a step farther penetrating his five years old step daughter which happened in Bo.
He said whilst in his office at night the mother of the survivor after reporting the said matter nearly slept at the police station for the fear of her husband not to torture her.
Owing to that back drop, the Bo west family support unit line manager noted that he had to prevail on one of their partners who offered her vehicle to arrest the step father noting upon their arrival the step father in question refused to open the door in order to have access to him except they had to remove one of the windows in order to get their way inside the alleged perpetrator’s room for his arrest.
ASP Kanneh pointed out that having arrested the step father in question they had to allow the wife to sleep at the house whilst her husband the alleged perpetrator was conveyed to the Bo west police station and placed in police custody.
Explaining how the other alleged sexual penetration happened, ASP Mohamed Kanneh maintained that according to a police case file from Mattru Jong in Bonthe District a man identified as Moiwo Morie Lamin Senessie Kpaka on a date unknown in Mattru Jong took a three year old girl in a nearby bush whilst her parents were away and reportedly penetrated her with three of his fingers.
This is according to the Bo west family support unit boss was confirmed by the perpetrator when police were obtaining statement from him. ASP Mohamed Kanneh noted that due to the deplorable health condition of the three years old girl she has been hospitalized whilst the two perpetrators are in police custody helping them in their investigations.
Concluding the Bo west family support unit line manager expressed grave concern over what he called the prolonged nature of investigation sexual penetration cases under the 2012 sexual penetration Act as amended in 2019 which states that all sexual penetration cases are to be trailed in the high Courts.
He said the prolonged nature of charging sexual related cases is that they have to go through the only state counsel who is a very busy man before they are charged to the high court’s which for him is time consuming.
