A man in the custody at the Kambia Police Station is alleged of beating his three years old daughter to death.
James Kabbah Dumbuya, the suspect, woke upon at night and discovered that someone had misused the cup meant to urinate in at night; upon discovering what was contained in the container, he assembled his five children to enquiry who committed the act. None of them took responsibility so he decided to discipline them one by one. He started off with the deceased who was the eldest with sound beating until the mother intervened. She immediately warmed water and treated the deceased who succumbed to the pain sustained.
The Local Unit Commander at the Kambia Police Station, Chief Superintendent of Police, Ibrahim T.Z. Tarawallie, said they are looking for witnesses to complete the investigation so they can charge him upon conclusion of the investigation as soon as possible.
The suspect admitted beating up the deceased but claimed he did not mean to kill her. “I just tried to discipline her as a father would do to her children when the accident accord and none of them took responsibility for the act”, the suspect said.
