Christiana Foday, Tenneh Foday, Estella Foday and Patrick Foday made their first appearance before Magistrate Hadiru K Daboh of Ross Road Court No.3 in Freetown on private criminal sermons on four count charges to wit Trespass, Malicious damage, threatening to kill and Conspiracy to commit a Larceny.
According to the particulars of offence on the 14th January 2022 at around 4pm at Campbell Street Wellington unlawfully entered into the compound of Sebatu Mustapha in an annoying manner.
On count two on the same date and place maliciously damaged the Toilet seat and septic pipe valued at three million Leones property of the said complainant.
On count three at the same place and date threatened to kill the said complainant.
On count four conspired together to steal the sum of five million Leones(5,000,000) belonging to the said complainant.
The charges were read and explained to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty
A.O Gbla and M.A Conteh applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused persons that they’re Sierra Leoneans resident within this jurisdiction.
That they have credible sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on their behalf and they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses.
He made his application pursuant to section 79 2 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Daboh granted the accused persons bail in the sum of one hundred million Leones or two sureties each sureties to be resident in Freetown. Sureties to be gainfully employed.
Sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown.
Bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar.
The Matter is adjourned to the 7th February 2023 for further hearing.
