He came close to winning the chieftaincy election and has the grassroots firmly behind him. Moijueh Kaikai is the ordinary man’s friend in Kpanga chiefdom, Pujehun district. He took the first position in the first round of the election. And it was widely rumored that he was going to win the election.
As it turned out, he lost to another Kaikai, an older one. He sounded graceful in defeat and cautioned his supporters to accept the results and “not to go on the rampage”. Losing can be very tough to accept, though. But speaking to residents of Pujehun town, you get this feeling that Moijueh Kaikai was the most popular candidate.
What cost him the chieftaincy election was a mix of events. First, his then political party leaning and next was family feud.
One of his biological brothers, “Caborator” was the one who instead of supporting his blood; Moijue threw his support behind the other Kaikai who eventually became the winner.
Moijue Kaikai is incensed about his own biological brother betraying him.
So in a concession speech, his brother, “Caborator” ceases to be his brother. Now some segments of Kpanga chiefdom residents have vowed not to pay tax. Pujehun district is renowned for its politics of power play and opportunism. What lies ahead for now is unpredictable.
