Sahr Combay and David Aruna were arraigned before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Freetown Magistrate court on the 19th February, 2021.Both accused were charged with eleven counts ranging from conspiracy to forgery.

According to the particulars of offence, the two accused persons, on 15th December, 2020 were caught in Freetown for fraudulently converting, forging and purported to be working at SLRSA, issuing fake driving licenses.

When testifying, Aruna Sesay attached to the CID Headquarters in Freetown said that he recognized the two accused and recalled on the 15th December, 2020. He said he was instructed by his superior to obtain voluntarily statement from the both accused.

 After which, a team of detectives led by detective sgt.7155 including one of the suspect David Aruna left to execute a search warrant for a photographer called Kelly at Ross Road. Then they also made an enquiry at the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) Head office to get a copy of an authentic driving license.

When the two accused persons’ lawyer cross-examined PW 1, he asked several questions relating to the investigations done by the CID team. PW 1 was not able to answer the questions posed.

The two accused lawyer applied for exhibit A from the Magistrate which was granted, He then gave the exhibit to PW 1 to read for the court to hear. 

When he was testifying PW 1 talked about a telephone number. When he was however asked by the two accused lawyer about the telephone number he denied. According to exhibit A the number was 099-300802 and later he accepted before the court.

No re-examination was done by the prosecution. The two accused lawyer applied for bail for his clients and the Magistrate granted it.  The matter was adjourned to 10th March, 2021.
