Fake Inspector General Of Police Scams APC Money Jagaban Le 187 Million

The operational officer at the criminal investigation department (CID) Joshua Moosa yesterday informed journalists that one Samuel Bundu of 45 Malta Street Freetown is currently in police custody for conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretence by scamming Mohamed Alhaji Kamara alias Money Jagaban of the sum of One Hundred and Eighty-Seven Million Leones.

Moosa made the revelation at the police press conference at George Street, Freetown.

According to him, Samuel Bundu who claimed to be the personal assistant to the inspector General of police Fayia Sellu contacted one Mohamed Kamara aka Money Jagaban that he was sent by the police Inspector General to receive one hundred and eighty-seven million Leones they agreed on for an armoured vehicle.

He said that, Mohamed Kamara alias money JAGABAN contacted the number to confirm if it was indeed the IG that sent Samuel Bondo, adding that eventually, the individual who claimed to be the IG confirmed that Jagaban should release the amount of money to Samuel Bondo which he did.

He told journalists that the impersonator who claimed to be the IG has been arrested and is in police custody.

Furthermore, from the Acting Regional Commander Freetown East, he reported that on Wednesday 12th April 2023 police received intelligence at the Waterloo Division. Upon this, he said the Deputy Superintendent Septimus and the team left and conducted a search at the residence of the former headman Abdulai Mansaray alias Rambo and found therein Military Camouflage such as Military boots, Military Jackets, Red berets with red colour and an inscription written APC and many more items were found in his possession.

He said the former headman was arrested along with his gang members and all are in police custody.

In another development, he went on that the headman of the Sherbro community at Waterloo called on the police and alleged that there was a strange smell coming from the house of a witch doctor that happens to be his neighbour.

Upon receiving the intelligence, he said, a team of police officers left and arrived at the house of the witch doctor and found therein a Male Adult lifeless unidentified body.

 He said arrests were made and a group of family members arrived at the scene and identified the body to be that of the missing Fourah Bay College lecturer who mysteriously disappeared in March 2023.

Mr Fritzlnum Joshua Moosa Operations Officer at the CID gave an update on the killing of Boyka a police officer.

According to him suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime and are currently helping the police with the investigation.

In another development, the operational officer informed that a police officer was out with his security to purchase an electric fan and bundles of water for his family.

He intimated that security said he went inside the shop to purchase the said fan when he heard a gunshot and immediately rushed outside to see the lifeless body of Boyka who had been shot by unknown men.

Upon this, he said he rushed to Makeni police station to report the incident.
