Mohamed Tejan Conteh who was posing as a medical doctor has been arraigned before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road court number one for parsonating as a doctor of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

He is before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road court number one for personation,  six count charges of forgery,  and obtaining money by false pretences contrary to section 32(1) of of the larceny Act of 1916.

It was alleged on count one that on the 15th of April 2023 at Allen Town Junction in Freetown the accused not being a medical doctor of the Ministry of Health and sanitation falsely and decitfully parsonated as a medical doctor under that assured character without authority.

In count two, three, four, five,  six and seven, the police alleged that the accused on the same date and place  with intent to defraud falsely prepared forged documents one recommendation porported to be a medical doctor from the ministry of health and sanitation in partner with Mercy Ship International for the treatment of complainants Abdulai Amara, Tenneh Amara, Isha Amara, Sheku J Jamboria , Umar K J Jamboria and  Hardy Kamara  to Mercy Ship International knowing same to be false.

On count seven, the police alleged that on the same date and place the accused Ahmed Tejan Conteh with intent to defraud obtained the sum of nineteen million eight hundred thousand Leones ( Le 19,800,00) from complainant Charlie Abdulai Amara with the pretext that he will facilitate quick medical treatment for Abdul Rahim Amara, Tenneh Amara , Isha Amara Sheku J Jamboria, Umar K J Jamboria, Hardy Kamara, Bockarie and others to Mercy Ship International knowing same to be false.

The charges were put to the accused with no plea taken.

Shortly after the matter was mentioned the complainants are absent. In that light, the prosecutor Sergeant Memunatu Manica Turay seeks the Bench leave for a short adjourned date in order for her to contact those who involved to come and prosecute the accused.

The file sent to court by the police contained statements of complainants, their witnesses and that of the accused.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to the 15th of November for the prosecutor to contact complainants and their witnesses to come and prosecute the accused.
