EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF NORTHWEST REGION FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION ENDS FAMILIARISATION TOUR IN KAMBIA

The Northwest Region Football Association has concluded a successful Familiarization visit in Kambia District on Sunday 11th and Monday 12th July 2021 to discuss with football team Representatives, the district FA and football stakeholders in kambia district.

The Familiarization visit is in line with the newly elected Northwest Region Chairman’s 100 Days’ Action Plans; to dialogue with Community Stakeholders, the football family and District FA executive members for a fruitful engagement.

The Regional Chairman,  Mr. Abdul Osman Turay was accompanied by stakeholders from the regional mainstream, football administration together with SLFA Vice President II, Mr. Alie Badara Tarawallie to collaborate a unique engagement opportunity.

The public relations officer of kambia district football Association (KaDFA) media icon welcomed all members for attending the meeting.

 Media Icon further explained that there are a lot of issues pertaining to football which needs to be addressed through dialogue.

The secretary general of kambia district football Association madam Aminata Turay presented to the audience the Success and challenges of the Association.

 According to Aminata Turay during her presentation she informed  the regional executive and team members witness that  kambia district presently has 12 executive members, 17 Division two teams, 6  Division one and 4 female teams.

She also mentioned about the 96,000,000 million project sponsored by FIFA through SLFA which the Association utilized to renovate the kambia Mini stadium and other covid-19 support which was disbursed to all registered teams to help salvage the challenges of the covid-19 pandemic.

Madam Turay further explained that the FA successfully completed the Division 1,2 and female football competition in the district. She talked about the 10 chiefdom executives which have been formed successfully across the district.

In highlighting the challenges faced by Kambia district football Association secretary Aminata Turay informed the audience that the kambia Mini stadium lacks pavilion and sitting accommodation which is challenging for football spectators.

She also noted that there is no office space for the district FA and they are at present receiving limited Support from community stakeholders.

She ended with few recommendations which are to firstly engage community stakeholders to provide support for the game.

Secondly, frequent trainings for both the district FA, chiefdom executives and division one coaches thanked the Regional executive and  football stakeholders  in Kambia district for attending.

According to the Vice president 2 of SLFA Mr Alie Badara Tarawalie in delivering his statement he started by apologizing to the executive of karene district for not being part of the familiarization tour in Karene district.

 Mr Tarawalie Said his visit to kambia district is to be accompanied by the new Chairman and his executive in kambia district.

Vice president 2 SLFA informed members that the newly Northwest Region chairman as attended his first executive meeting in freetown were they discussed a lot about the development of the game across the country.

 Mr Tarawalie said all the challenges mentioned by the district secretary general in kambia were discussed during the national retreat at Tokeh beach in Freetown.

He ended by expressing sincere thanks and appreciation to the district for the support during the SLFA Congress.

The key note speaker was the Chairman of the Northwest Region football Association Chairman Abdul Osman Turay.

He thanked all members for attending and further asked members to observe a minute silence prayer for the father of SLFA president and the late Chairman of Kambia district football Association mr Idriss kafol.

The Regional Chairman informed football stakeholders that the Regional secretary general will compile his presentation during the retreat at Tokeh beach which will be distributed to District Football Associations.

He further explained that since his selection he has introduced 100 days road map for the development of the game in the Northwest Region.

He started with visit to all district across the Region and promised to conclude the familiarization tour in portloko District next week.

Chairman A.O.T also informed members that after his visit to the Paramount Chief of magbema chiefdom, Paramount Chief Member of Parliament Bai farama Tass bubu N’gbaka 4th promised to engaged all Paramount chiefs across the 10 chiefdoms to support football activities at district level.

 More over his visit again is to instruct district FAs to prepare an activity plan for the next coming football league season which will help football stakeholders to understand and follow the activities of the game at district level.

He congratulated GS United Football club, Patricia Humu female football club and Lamboi FC lungi for successfully completing the previous competitions without any major problem, he said out of the competitions played 226 million was spent by the Region.

Mr Turay ended up by informing team Representatives and Football stakeholders that come next season which will commence September all Division one teams intending to participate must have 5 million into their Bank account, 2 million leones for Division two teams and 1.5, millions for female teams, without any of the said amount a team would not be allowed to take part next season.

Chairman Turay thanked members for the turn out and promised to work closely with all sectors for effective administration of football at the Northwest Region.
