Evangelist Bernadette Turay of New Harvest Global Ministries delivered a powerful message urging women to take a stand against the rising tide of drug abuse among the youth. Speaking at the Kono District women’s thanksgiving service held at the Central House of Gathering in Koidu City, Evangelist Turay emphasized the importance of vigilance, wisdom, and prayer in tackling the scourge of harmful substances such as Kush, cannabis sativa, tramadol, and others.
Drawing from the biblical text in Proverbs 14:1, Evangelist Turay delineated the qualities of a wise woman, stressing that wisdom transcends circumstances and is foundational to societal development. She underscored the significance of fearing God, imparting moral values, and possessing prophetic insight to anticipate and address potential problems. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of spiritual mindfulness, prudent planning, seeking counsel, and avoiding sinful activities.
Evangelist Turay urged women to support one another, remain committed to spiritual endeavors, and cultivate faith in God. She particularly addressed young women, advising them to maintain sobriety and seek wholesome relationships for their well-being and fulfillment.
The thanksgiving service, organized by New Harvest Global Ministries Kono District, aimed at fundraising, church planting, and fostering fellowship among members. The event spanned three days of revival services, culminating in the “Woman of the Year 2024-2025” competition, where Mrs. Alice Kallie from the Central Church in Koidu City emerged victorious.
Christiana Fear Stevens, the women’s leader of New Harvest Global Ministries Kono District, elucidated the purpose of the thanksgiving service, highlighting its multifaceted objectives of spiritual enrichment, community engagement, and organizational development.
In light of Evangelist Turay’s impassioned call to action and the recognition of Mrs. Alice Kallie as an exemplary woman of the year, the event served as a platform for empowerment, enlightenment, and collective endeavor against societal challenges.
