Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh inspired traditional leaders in Moyamba District during a high-level engagement held in his capacity as Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Decentralization. He spoke passionately about governance reform, peace, and inclusive grassroots development.
Addressing Paramount Chiefs and other custodians of tradition, he reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening decentralization as a central pillar of President Julius Maada Bio’s development agenda, stressing that effective service delivery must begin at the local level.
The Vice President highlighted the need to empower and hold local councils accountable to improve access to healthcare, education, infrastructure, and community development.
He also acknowledged the critical role traditional authorities play in preserving unity and guiding progress across communities. Encouraging residents of Moyamba to continue safeguarding peace, he described stability as the bedrock of sustainable growth. “Our traditional authorities play a vital role in preserving unity and guiding progress within our communities.
