Peter Junior Lansana, an engineer, appeared before Magistrate Adama Kandeh at Pademba Road Court No. 4 on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, to face a charge of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act 1916 on Tuesday, 28th October 2025.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Thursday, 19th December 2024, at Hill Station, Freetown, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Lansana allegedly obtained the sum of thirty-one thousand leones (NLe 31,000) from Isata Fullah by falsely pretending to prepare a survey file plan document for a piece of land situated at Sesay Drive, Hill Station, Freetown, knowing the claim to be false.
When the charge was read and explained to him, the defendant pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector A.T. Bangura, requested a short adjournment to lead his first witness in the case. The defendant was not legally represented during the proceedings.
Magistrate Kandeh remanded the defendant to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown and adjourned the case to 4th November 2025 for further hearings.
