The Empower Well-being Network SL organized a dynamic street workout event that saw women from various professions come together to promote fitness and health awareness in Bo on Saturday, November 30th 2024. The participants, including teachers, nurses, and police officers, converged at Mobile and jogged through the principal streets of Bo City, advocating for physical fitness as a key strategy for combating lifestyle diseases.

The women highlighted the importance of exercise in improving overall health and well-being. “Regular exercise is vital for women. It helps fight diseases like diabetes, obesity, and poor digestion. This event is a reminder that we must prioritize our health,” said one enthusiastic participant.

Empower Well-being Network SL, initially launched as “Pajeps” Foundation on July 5, 2024, has grown significantly under the leadership of its founder, Esther Mamasu Masallay. The organization’s maiden training session engaged over 37 women from diverse fields, laying the foundation for its impactful initiatives in fitness and health advocacy.

Speaking at the event, the CEO of Empower Well-being Network SL, Paul Sengeh, commended the women for their active participation and commitment to health improvement. “Today’s turnout is a testament to the strength and resilience of women in Bo City. Together, we are not just promoting fitness but also encouraging women to take control of their health. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event a success,” he stated.

A representative from the Bo Government Hospital Bandu Konnah further emphasized the health benefits of regular physical activity. “Exercise goes beyond aesthetics; it is about improving cardiovascular health, enhancing mental well-being, and preventing chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes,” the health professional explained.

Civil Society Organizations (CSO) South Chairman, Joseph D. Blackie, also commended the initiative, pledging the CSO’s continued support. “This is a brilliant example of community-driven health advocacy. We are committed to collaborating with Empower Well-being Network SL to amplify such efforts and create a healthier society,” Blackie remarked.

Participants expressed excitement and encouraged more women to join future activities. “It was not only fun but also empowering. Exercising together builds a sense of unity and motivation. I urge more women to take part in these events,” one participant shared.

The event concluded on a high note, with plans for expanded future engagements aimed at fostering fitness and healthy living among women in Bo City. Empower Well-being Network SL continues to champion wellness, inspiring women to prioritize their health and well-being through regular physical activity.
